A Biman Bangladesh Boeing 737-800 made a precautionary return to Dhaka reporting cabin pressurisation problems on 28 February 2025.
Biman Bangladesh flight BG388, operated by a Boeing 737-800, had conducted a departure from Dhaka Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (DAC).
The flight was to be a scheduled service to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK).

During the subsequent climb after departure, flight crew reported experiencing problems with the aircraft’s cabin pressurisation system. An emergency descent was initiated to 10,000 feet. Following the descent, flight crew elected to carry out a precautionary return to Dhaka.
According to the online source Aviation Herald, Dhaka Airport reported that passenger cabin oxygen masks were deployed during the depressurised descent procedure.
The aircraft landed at the departure airport without further incident approximately two hours after its initial departure.
Flight data shows that flight BG388 had departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 12:02 local time on 28 February.
Following departure, the flight had climbed to flight level FL250 before flight crew terminated the climb procedure. The aircraft was passing overhead Myanmar on flight plan track when the depressurized descent procedure was carried out.
The flight then returned to the departure airport at the reduced safety altitude of 10,000 feet.
The aircraft conducting the BG388 service to Bangkok was a Boeing 737-800, registered S2-AFM. This is a 23.5 year old narrow body aircraft belonging to the carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
It has been operational service with the airline since February 2010. Prior to its present service, the aircraft operated with a number of carriers since its initial delivery from the factory in September 2001.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines is the national flag carrier of Bangladesh. Biman provides both domestic and international passenger and cargo services.
The carrier’s main hub is Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (DAC) in Dhaka.
