Wamos Air to return to Perth-Auckland service for Air New Zealand

Spanish charter operator Wamos Air will return to operating daily Auckland to Perth and Perth to Auckland services on behalf of Air New Zealand between February 9 and April 30 2024.

Having previously supported the New Zealand flag carrier on the Trans Tasman route, the airline will be re-entering a temporary lease agreement as Air New Zealand aircraft enter maintenance after global engine issues.

Perth – Auckland Operations

Wamos Air will operate daily flights between Auckland and Perth, and vice versa, from February 9 to April 30, 2024.

This move guarantees extra operational flexibility, allowing the New Zealand airline to navigate through additional fleet maintenance requirements and to pre-emptively cover any unforeseen disruptions which may arise.

The proactive, temporary charter measure has been put into place to avoid any major flight cancellations across the timeframe.

Why Wamos Air?

Having previously assisted with capacity restraints post-Covid, Wamos Air is a proven and trusted provider.

The decision to enlist their help stems from confidence in their ability to uphold Air New Zealand’s high standards of customer care and service delivery.

Customers on Wamos Air-operated flights can expect the same Air New Zealand meal service and will be greeted by the familiar faces of Air New Zealand’s customer service agents at the airport check-in and gate.

This customer-centric approach aims to achieve a consistent and positive travel experience.

At the heart of this proactive decision is Air New Zealand’s commitment to ensuring operational and passenger confidence. This commitment holds particular significance, especially during the busy summer and Easter holiday period.

Air New Zealand has advised that it has taken proactive steps to keep its customers informed. Those traveling to or from Perth have been contacted with all the necessary information and expectations for their upcoming flights.

Customers who booked through third-party agents will receive direct communication about any changes to their travel plans.
