Helldivers 2 players share the funniest reasons why they were kicked from a mission

In a Helldivers 2 mission, the host has the ability to kick players at any time. Unfortunately, many use this as a way to not have to learn teamwork. Instead, some kick others for the most trivial reasons, although some of these players may have deserved it.

U/Smart-Citron-5726 took to Reddit to share a story of them being kicked from a mission and asking the community to share their own tales. Their story of being kicked happened while “on a bug mission collecting samples on Helldive difficult.We split up in 2 groups of 2. Host kept dying and raging on the other side of the map. Me and the other rando were doing great communicating well not dying once.then we’re about to head to extract and re-group and suddenly read in chat “That’s what you get for cheating.” and I got kicked. Got me confused for a second what happened and then laughed my ass off,” they said.

“I take this as a massive compliment. It doesn’t bother me at all because i’m 150 and maxed out anyways.But this kick is probably the best feeling i’ve gotten from some rando.”

Other players took to Reddit to share their own stories, with U/IceFire549 saying that they “Destroyed a rogue research building with a precision strike. Host thought I failed the objective because it wasn’t destroyed with a hellbomb.”

U/Mcb-homis shared the time that they were kicked following an accidental squad wipe saying “Tripped with a cluster bomb in my hand. Squad wipe! All four of us! I had already accidently killed the host earlier when he ran in front of me while lay down a long burst from a Stalwart. I was laughing so hard when I tripped and dropped that cluster I was not even mad they kicked me.”

Finally, U/Oh_Ate21 shared an incredibly funny experience “When dropping in on a new game, I screamed, “Help is on the way, dear!” In my best, Mrs. Doubtfire voice. About 15 seconds later, I was kicked.”

Players are too trigger happy with the kick button in Helldivers 2, much more so than in other games, but some of these may have deserved it. At least being kicked for a reason makes sense, but many do it as the end of a mission and has it to grief others. But that is about to change as the upcoming Escalation of Freedom update will add a change to still grant players rewards after being kicked.
