flynas, the Middle East’s leading low-cost carrier (LCC) and a global low-cost aviation powerhouse, has announced a major expansion of its Airbus fleet.
This news coincides with a visit from Airbus senior management to flynas headquarters in Riyadh, underscoring the strong partnership between the two companies.
Over the next five years, flynas will welcome over 100 new Airbus aircraft, propelling its total fleet size to more than 160 by the end of 2030.
Record Order for Middle East Carrier
This significant expansion is part of a landmark order for 280 aircraft, valued at over 161 billion Saudi Riyals. This monumental purchase solidifies flynas’ position as the largest owner of single-aisle aircraft orders in the Middle East. It further highlights the airline’s rise in growth and regional leadership.
The Airbus delegation’s visit also celebrated the arrival of a brand-new Airbus A320neo aircraft. This was delivered to flynas on 8 February 2025. This addition brings the airline’s total number of A320neo aircraft to an impressive 54.
The new aircraft arrival and the substantial order book underscore flynas’ strategic growth and expansion plan. The recently arrived A320neo was aptly named “We connect the world to the Kingdom.”
This ambitious plan aligns perfectly with the objectives of the National Civil Aviation Strategy. The national strategy aims to empower Saudi air carriers to connect the Kingdom with 250 international destinations. It will accommodate 330 million passengers, and host 150 million tourists annually by 2030.
Furthermore, flynas’ expansion supports the Pilgrims Experience Program (PEP). This seeks to streamline access to the Two Holy Mosques for pilgrims from around the globe.

Visit by Airbus Delegation
During their visit on Wednesday, February 12th, the Airbus delegation toured the flynas headquarters in Riyadh. They were introduced to the company’s innovative solutions within the aviation industry and engaged in discussions with senior flynas executives.
These discussions focused on exploring future cooperation opportunities and strengthening the already robust strategic relationship between the two organizations.
Bander Al-Muhanna, CEO and Managing Director of flynas, expressed his appreciation for the Airbus senior management’s visit. He emphasized that the visit reflects both flynas’ prominent standing as a leading Saudi carrier on the global stage and the importance of the long-term partnership with Airbus.
Al-Muhanna highlighted how this partnership has been instrumental in flynas’ contribution to achieving national goals within the aviation sector.

Conclusion
The relationship between flynas and Airbus has been a story of continuous growth and collaboration. Since its inception, flynas has partnered with Airbus, a relationship that significantly advanced in 2016 with the signing of an agreement for 120 aircraft.
This partnership reached new heights in 2024 with the monumental order for 160 Airbus aircraft, encompassing both A320 family aircraft and the wide-body A330.
This latest order solidifies the commitment of flynas to providing its passengers with a modern and efficient fleet. It also contributes significantly to the growth of the Saudi Arabian aviation industry.
With its ambitious expansion plans and strong partnership with Airbus, flynas is poised to play a pivotal role in connecting the world to the Kingdom and achieving the ambitious goals set by the National Civil Aviation Strategy.
