Elden Ring is a masterpiece from the geniuses at FromSoftware combined with the brilliance of Game of Thrones author, George R.R. Martin. Since its launch in 2022, fans have been desperate for more, and FromSoftware is finally set to reveal the DLC. But, before this reveal happens, the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC release date may have possibly leaked from an often reliable source.

As mentioned, the game first came out in February 2022 and it sold 20 million copies in just one year. It took over the gaming world with the trademark FromSoftware brutal difficulty but with the added element of a gorgeous and gigantic open-world completely free to explore. FromSoftware delighted everyone when they confirmed the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC expansion, but we haven’t heard of or seen this post-launch content ever since.

Thankfully, FromSoftware is set to release a trailer for the upcoming DLC later today. Not only that, but they should also provide a launch day for the highly-anticipated expansion. While details will be official soon, it’s possible that the release date has already leaked.

Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC release date leak

The possibly leaked release date for Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree is June 21st, 2024. This comes courtesy of often reliable leaker, Billbil-Kun via dealabs. However, although they are a reliable leaker, they admit this is not 100% guaranteed.

They think it will come out on June 21st, 2024, but they admit it’s not 100% guaranteed because this release date ‘corresponds to the release date of several special editions of the game on different platforms’.

No special editions of the game have been revealed so far, but Billbil-Kun says the following will come out in June:

  • Elden Ring Shadow Of The Erdtree (DLC included) – Goty Edition (Game of the Year): $79.99 (physical copy available on PS5 and Xbox Series X)
  • Elden Ring Shadow Of The Erdtree (DLC included) – Collector’s Edition259.99 euros (physical copy available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X)

Billbil-Kun acknowledges that Elden Ring launched with a collector’s edition, so they’re not sure what the new collector’s edition will include. However, because the DLC is said to be included with both upcoming editions releasing on June 21st, 2024, it’s assumed that is also the launch day for the DLC.

None of the above is official as of writing. The release time for the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree gameplay trailer is imminent, and you definitely won’t want to miss it. Not only it should provide exciting gameplay footage, but it should also confirm the official launch day.
